AmeliaAudio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser. A young girl, straight out of college, she was a triple major in English, History, and Language. She has great posture and a heart-stopping smile, but she is very naive in the ways of the world; Amelia-Ann is only book smart. She is very anti-establishment and opposes the rules of society that she doesn’t find to be morally correct. One day before work, Amelia-Ann had a visit from Death. Upon seeing Death, Amelia-Ann fled, but Death made chase. When Death was about to close on Amelia-Ann, he fell into a pit of new-born, highly-poisonous snakes and was eaten up. It is written that if you are responsible for killing Death, you must take on his job. Thus, Amelia-Ann became the new Death. Along with the old Death and the Gravedigger, she is slowly learning the job. But, being a very strong-minded girl, she doesn’t follow the rules of the job. She will grow to take the job seriously and will become both the youngest and first female Death, but also the most original and respected Death of all. Over time, Amelia-Ann takes on the form of Death. She slowly grows feathery wings, for which she is skeptical. Her greatest challenge, however, is to figure out how to undo the process of losing the flesh in her face and body. Slowly, and I do mean slowly, she comes to realizes that she is falling in love with the Gravedigger. |
